Up early, eat menudo, and wait a bit to decide which route to take. The 5 was closed for about 48 hours due to snow and it was only opened this morning with some police escorts because the roads were still icy and frozen. Even though the mapping software didn’t think it was open, we left planning to go over the whole 5 into LA then cut across to Riverside. We took the 138 to the 15 to the 215, coming around from the top, through the high desert. There was A LOT of snow. Nearly the whole drive once we hit the Pass until we got to the 15. The last 2 miles when merging onto the 15 took over an hour. It was the worst.
